What is a Rank I Program?

A Rank I program is often referred to as a Master’s +30 or Sixth Year program in many areas of the country. The program provides additional training for teachers and/or school administrators beyond the master’s degree. In addition to increasing their skills and understanding of their profession, it is common that teachers or administrators who complete the program receive a substantial pay increase. Teachers or administrators should check with their school administration on the benefits of completing a Rank I (Master’s +30) program.
